Well it's that time again, time for the USAT National Challenge Competition (NCC)!
If you are new, the USAT NCC Challenge is a promotion put on by USA Triathlon to keep us motivated throughout the year. Tri Clubs across the country go head-to-head to see who can log the most training miles during the competition and sign ups start now!
This year we are setting it up similar to how it was three years ago in that everyone will go to a Google Docs Share Excel File and put in your data. You will be able to see how you stack up relative to all CTC Participants!!! One board member will input everyone’s data to the official USAT Standings on at least a weekly basis. Also, look for regular updates from CTC this year!
This year we are expecting great distances from you all - plus it is a great way to get in shape for triathlon season next year! Not only that, if you do not already track your mileage, this is a great way to get started!!! There will be certificates for top man and woman each month from USAT and CTC will be recognizing our top performers!
Please be assured no matter if you put up 1 mile a week or 200 a week, every little bit helps CTC and we want it to count. Enter today as we need 75 people to fill our roster!!!!
USAT is in charge of this, so to participate in the NCC, you have to be a member of CTC AND USAT. If you wish to participate in the 2010-2011 USAT Challenge, email your NAME, your USAT # & your USAT Expiration Date to

as soon as possible.
All participants will be set up in the club’s Google Share File. You will be responsible for tracking your mileage update your mileage in the google file. We will post the file share link here and you can see where you stack up!!!!
So how does the NCC work exactly? The NCC will feature three sessions, each one month in duration, from December to February. A CTC representative will upload all participants’ mileage into the official USAT NCC website which will have automatic calculation and ranking. In order to equalize each discipline, each discipline is weighted outside of cycling.
1 Swim Mile = 10 Miles
1 Bike Mile = 1 Mile
1 Run Mile = 3 Miles
Team Benchmark- The first priority for each club is to meet the benchmark for that month. The first club to reach the benchmark will receive a certificate for their efforts.
December 2010 is swimming and the benchmark is 500 miles. Between the Reddy’s swimming and a few of our known dolphins, CTC has got a good chance of doing well! (January is Biking, February is Running!)
All sessions will include swim, bike, and run, but one sport will be highlighted for each session. The winning club for each session is determined by the greatest number of miles logged during that session for that month's discipline. There are also prizes for the first club to reach the benchmark mileage for each session, and Overall Combined Mileage for a club at the end of the three months.
Let’s make the 2010-2011 the season that CTC dominates the NCC CHALLENGE! COMPETITION KICKS OFF DECEMBER 1st...GET IN ON THE ACTION TODAY!
