June 24, 2019 - Race Day Recap


This 10k was a rough one. This is the first 10k I have ever ran and I can take away alot of lessons. First, nutrition is everything. DO NOT eat mexican the night before the race thinking "Ive ran further than that in training, it will be easy." Second, post-race nutrition is also a must. I followed up the race with a bottle of water and a banana. This is not enough and my body made me fully aware. For my first ever 10k I beat my goal time of 1 hour; however, I can do much much better with proper nutrition. Next time will be better and my goal will be sub 00:50.
