CTC Spring Training: Logistics Guide

Whether you are a returning member or joining us for your very first season, this guide is designed to help you show up to our sessions with total confidence.

Weekly Group Workouts

Tuesdays: Westside Brick, Emerald Necklace Marina, Lakewood
This 24-mile out-and-back course is mostly flat, offering an easy opportunity to turn around early if needed and making it extremely beginner friendly. It’s our largest group ride, so riders split into at least four pace groups. Some run after, some head immediately to the post-ride social at Market in Rocky River!

Group Leaders: Mark Durno, Chris Ivary, and Kirsten Bardwell

Wednesdays: Eastside Brick, Little Church in the Vale, Gates Mills
This 20-22-mile out-and-back course is moderately hilly and extremely scenic, with the opportunity for a serious hill effort at the turn around. Traditionally a smaller ride, it usually has one or two pace groups. Optional run afterwards.

Group Leaders: David Kelsch, Jenise Snyder, and Chris Ivary

Select Wednesdays: Time Trial, Lagoon Picnic Area, Olmstead Township
This monthly ride is a 2 loop, 12-mile time trial event for experienced bike riders looking to go fast with fast friends. Bring your full race set up - race suit, race wheels, aero helmet, etc. This takes place the last Wednesday of every month, April to August.

Group Leader: Ken Beech

Thursdays: Southside Ride, Oak Grove Picnic Area, Brecksville
This ~22-mile out-and-back route is our hilliest ride, so riding in a pace group is sometimes tricky. Riders may separate but always regroup at major intersections.

Group Leader: Julie Sadar

These are all official CTC events and therefore all paid current members are covered under CTC  USAT Supplemental Insurance. We encourage you to bring friends but just know that if an incident were to occur they would not be covered under CTC insurance unless they have paid the annual membership prior to the event starting.
